What this website is, and what it is not
chineseconsulates.us is not the Chinese Embassy, a Chinese Consulate General, an honorary consulate, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or any other agency of the People’s Republic of China or of the United States. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of any of them.
We do not book, sell, reserve, expedite or manage consular appointments, and we do not process any document. You book on the systems the Chinese offices use, which our appointments page lists office by office.
This site is an independent information guide about Chinese consular offices in the United States. It exists to answer the questions people actually search for (which consulate covers my state, how far away it is, what a procedure involves and whether it requires a consulate at all) and to link through to the official sources.

Using this website makes you a User and implies full acceptance of these terms as published at the moment of access. You undertake to use the website and its contents lawfully, in good faith, and without infringing these terms or the rights of the Owner or of third parties.
You agree not to use this website for unlawful purposes, not to attempt to disrupt its operation or security, not to introduce malicious code, and not to extract its content by automated means for the purpose of reproducing it elsewhere.
Comments
Pages on this site accept comments. They are read before they appear, and we may decline or remove any comment that breaks the law, harms the rights of others or doesn't fit the page. Each comment is its author's opinion, and the Owner is not responsible for it beyond what the applicable law requires.
Please don't post passport numbers, phone numbers, addresses or copies of documents. We are not a consulate and can't look up or move an application forward.
Accuracy of the information
We take care with what we publish. Addresses, telephone numbers, opening hours, jurisdictions, fees and requirements are checked against the official pages of the Chinese Embassy in Washington and the individual consulates general, and the dates of those checks are recorded in our source material.
Even so, this information can change without notice, and sometimes the official sources themselves disagree. Where we have found a contradiction between official pages (a jurisdiction listed differently in two places, a fee published at two amounts) we say so on the page rather than silently choosing one. Always confirm with the relevant consulate before traveling, paying a fee or relying on a requirement.
The Owner accepts no liability for any loss arising from reliance on information published here, nor for decisions taken on the basis of it. The authoritative source for any Chinese consular matter is the Chinese consulate with jurisdiction over you.
