Chinese consulates in Hawaii
Hawaii belongs to Los Angeles, not to San Francisco, and there is no road. Honolulu handles its consular business at a distance of 2,500 miles.
For anyone living in Hawaii, the first thing to settle is not the form but the office: an application from outside a district is refused.
Which Chinese consulate covers Hawaii?
The 2024 announcement puts Hawaii under Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles, and the five offices publish the same list.

What you can settle without going to the consulate
- book nothing: since October 2023 the five offices take walk-ins and there is no appointment to make
- send someone else to hand in your passport and to pick it up for you
- fill in the whole visa form and upload your documents on COVA, without leaving home
Check the office page for counter hours before setting off: they are narrower than the building's.
